Qual

So for the past weeks, I've been doing ... experiments. And no, I did not drew this, for the most part anyway. It's this AI generated photo-like pictures that you may well know of. And then all I had to do is to stitch and layer, or so I thought. The generating isn't perfect so adjustments are necesarry.
Here's this cattish thing. In this case there's not much to edit. Just refine a bit and it's done.
As for this lamp, not so much. Even the letters are hand drawn, if you consider hand drawing letters and converting into a font file as drawn that is.
The buildings are easy. You just need to taper the pictures. Simple right? Well the problem is when editing the not HD stuff. Fortunately I cheated by blurring most of the background things and darkening them on top of it.
So, the awaited girl part. It's a shame a lot of the efforts is covered over by the cat. Although to be fare, some parts are still not shown, like the heart metal piece on the choker, and the compass like instrument on her left, er right hip.
Most really are just edits, but I do want to point out the hands are drawn by me 100%. I'm serious haha trust me

Probably not complete. May add or change a few parts in due time.
Update 2020/08/28 Edited a few parts, namely the background and the overall color scheme/contrast. Therefore, this art has achieved the Ultimate Dream title.

So what happened to you?

AndersonT : Short answer: Games
Longer answer: I've been telling myself I'm busy at work, and I have no more strength left but to watch youtube. Don't worry, I'm still drawing on paper, except there is that Comin to the Rescue Fifth Edition I was typing which took a bunch of my drawing time. Not to mention I was getting lazy with the scanning, and currently stacked with months worth of pictures.
You may have noticed I mentioned about my facebook account. It's not linked here now, but I use it just like this blog, so you're really not missing much. I don't post a lot there to begin with, and if I did, it's usually work in progress things like these.↓

... Well if you try hard enough, you may be able to find my facebook page anyway.

Comin' to the Rescue! Fifth Retake

AndersonT : For some unknown reason, I decided to remake the infamous novel A New Tale of Toby Coreman Episode 3. For those who want a recap or a summary, you can use the Dōa-nu'tz tag to browse through all those nice abyss black history.
So to sum it up it's basically

  • First original version. Written on scraps. Undeniably crappy everything.
  • Second Brown notebook version. Enhanced, added fillers, and richer story.
  • Third Microsoft Word version. Great improvements in sentence structure Compared to the first version. (its actually still terrible) And more extensions but story couldn't go farther than 2nd version.
  • Fourth version but it's more like 3.5. Mainly spelling and grammar fixes. Typed out all the unreached 2nd version, and a brief after story and spoilers.
And this is the fifth version. In this version I would like to do a few things

  • Update the whole Dōa-nu'tz lore. That means changing lots of names, and even parts of stories to make it match with other newer stories.
  • Over enhancing the scenarios. Some places simply needs more description because they are not pictures. And even then I won't do justice compared to pro writers.
  • Deep characters. In order to make a deep story, you need deep characters! What I should do is, just get a very basic idea, and from there, branch out details. For example, throw in a character in some situation. What will he do and why. bring two characters, and imagine what will happen. Be creative and combine everything to anything. You don't make characters story! Characters make your story! ... maybe
  • The whole plot. Actually it's too late at this point. Change the story, and the Dōa-nu'tz won't be a Dōa-nu'tz. At least the deep characters can fill some plot holes.
  • Actually END THE STORY all the way to the end. No further explanation needed.

Okay I let you wait too long. Here's the part 1. Hopefully more will come. Part 2 is currently underway.

Chapter numbers are in a bit of mess. Stay not so tuned for updates and fixes

AndersonT : Okay now there's finally a bit more things to show you. Actually I haven't been making the game like I should have, because I never made a game in my life and have no idea about game designing, music, animations and all. On top of that the laptop heats up the whole room so I don't want to use it long, and unfortunately ending up doing something else (games and internet).
I've probably doing it all wrong; the whole game making process. What I mean is, here let's use my drawing process as an example. I'm sure people don't draw fragments of already detailed parts right from the start like we do with jigsaw puzzles. At least I won't and can't. First there's the very basic idea and shapes, and the rough drafts once or twice. Then basic color, layers of shadows, layers of lights, and repeated re adjustments.
Hopefully you know what I want to explain. I decided to just run through and make a overly sketchy game and release it. No proper music, graphics, effects, balancing, nothing! But i do need to make a decent map design, except this is not about map tiles. Only the placements of core objects and walls that make up the dungeons.
The graphics will need to wait until the basic game is done. Game balancing will need to be done by other people, since I can't really figure out. Those of you who are making dinner and tasting it will know this feeling. Sadly, the music may have to be added last. I'm no musician, so making a proper melody is really challenging.
I may have mentioned it before but this game has no story. Just rush into a castle and beat the Pumpkin King. The End

"Step out into the new" they said.
"Do not fear the failure" they said.
"Do not regret, face forward" they said.
"Find your ultimate dream" they said.
 Anderson.T : ... What have I gotten myself into?
Jokes aside I decided to save the art progression every day until it was complete. This took me 5 days.  Here, you should see this basic four steps of how I draw.
  • Step One; First, the lines. Actually a lot of people don't even line. I tried it. Didn't work out. Personally I prefer pen and paper. 100% laptop don't seem to do the job well. I just can't draw it the same way I do analog style. Once everything is imported into your computer, do some resizing, erase smudges, or even a complete redraw. Try reversing your picture (horizontal) from time to time. You'll need it.
  • Step Two; Paint the basic colors. Balancing is hard though. Don't worry I'm still learning too, so now you can laugh and throw auto smashers at me. I like Purple and Yellow combination, but this time, it's all too red sided, like her face. Grey scaling the whole picture might help you with balance. Maybe the colors I add are too vivid, but I like it that way. Again, personal preference.

  • Step Three; Add shadow. This is hard. Everything is. Unfortunately I have no good tips to tell you. Well if it's about colors again, try using different colors and vibrance instead of picking up the same base color you just used. Of course you need your layer to be multiply mode. Wait, if it comes to shading a face, It looks like you won't need to do much. Nobody else seems to.
  •  Step Four; Add light. Basically you paint the area where you didn't paint the shadows. This time your layer needs to be screen or lighten mode. Or I don't know. Apparently some people use overlay, which I never knew it could be done. I tried it. ... Only works if the area you paint is light enough. If not, stick with screen.
  • Step 4.5 ; Add moar light. Well basically highlights and back lighting or I don't know what it's called. I used to do "back lighting" in my very old pictures, but I stopped using the technique for some reason. Now it's back! Now we can make our edgy characters more dynamic! Just simply add some strings of light color right under the shadow, then you're done! Yay!
That's my four step on how I draw. Step four is my favorite for some reason. Well this is just how I do things. This is not THE WAY to draw. You really have to find your skills yourself. Look just Google everything and you'll be ok.
...
What? 4 steps too long? Fine, actually there's only two steps to be Pro!
1 Draw some circles
2 Fill in details
Done! If people can tell what you are drawing, and they enjoy it, you are "Pro"!
Really I'm half serious

Wyvern

Anderson.T : It's probably about time I tell you how I complete these color pictures. First off there's the sketch. There's always a sketch. Well sometimes I use the first drawing right on and add colors, like those pencil arts. And the pen works too, but the lines are mostly edited.

This time I wanted to do something different like drawing on a black canvas. These things obviously won't work out on the first try, so I did the opposite, then inverted the color.

That did it for some reason. Then you add the multiply layers and the light layers and the extra stuff! And there you have it! Should I post more of these tutorialish step-by-step posts? If these will help improve your art or at least inspire to do so, that would be great.
